Ernest Hariyanto is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer, writer, and editor. He co-produced, wrote and edited Jalanan (Streetside, 2013), a feature-length documentary that won Best Documentary at the Busan International Film Festival and was nominated for the prestigious Margaret Mead Filmmaker Award at The American Museum of Natural History's Margaret Mead Film Festival in New York.

His credits include the internationally acclaimed feature documentary Laya Project (2007), Warsaw International Film Festival’s Best Documentary Nominee Plastic Island (2021) and the avant-garde Australian surf documentary You Should Have Been Here Yesterday (2023). Ernest is an Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) accredited writer/editor and Australian Screen Editor Guild (ASE) guild member.
